Miscellaneous
These images are just a mixture of items that may or may not fit into one of the other galleries.
I am constantly experimenting with different techniques and learning with every shot I take. I hope I will never stop learning because that will be the time to hang up the camera. I doubt I will ever be 100% satisfied with what I can produce, I am certainly not a perfectionist by any means but I know what I like in an image, sometimes I can achieve it and other times it just doesn't work for me.
There are rules, or guidelines to good photography, so someone told me. I don't always follow them when I create an image, although I am often quite conscious of them when I am composing an image. If the rules work when I look through the camera that's fine but I don't think I sacrifice what I feel is a good composition for the sake of the rules.
I try to make sure I have a camera with me all the time but it is not always practical. however, I do try to record what I see wherever I go, even if it is only in my head. researching your locations is an important aspect of good photography. Take note of the light and the time of day. Be aware all the time of what will make a good image and write it down if necessary, you can then return with your camera another time.

Thorndon Park Brentwood
Don't be afraid to return to a location again and again. The light changes, the seasons change and your style and technique changes. Make the most of your local area and get out there shooting any time you can... Practice and practice.
